The Chinese Are Buying Up Cold, Hard Assets

Yo Pit Crazies.

If you caught my piece yesterday, I mentioned commodity stocks are in the can and are already predicting a recession.

Cheaper prices means folks with cash can buy them …

And China qualifies as folks with cash.

With Latin America at fire-sale prices the Chinese are giving it a go.

Meanwhile, there was heavy volume in another commodity stock I like.

Vale SA Is A Company With Great Assets but Troublesome Management

Vale SA (Ticker: VALE) is a huge mining operator with assets all over Brazil.  I write about it every once in a while when it’s an interesting trade.

The customer below thinks now is one of those times, insce they have been buying VALE Aug. 13 puts and Aug. 15 calls into the earnings cycle.

VALE was as high as $23 five weeks ago and as little as $11.28 in the fall.

It has paid $1 in dividends the past year and would be a perfect candidate for my Div+ strategy for OP Mentoring.

The estimated Ex D date is Sept. 9, and in OP Mentoring I’ll be teaching both short and long term trading techniques in the coming months.
