Privacy Policy

Who We Are and What This Policy Covers

Option Pit, LLC (“Option Pit,” “we,” “us”) operates the optionpit.com website and the Option Pit mobile applications for iOS and Android (the “Apps”). Together, the website, the Apps, and related services are the “Service.”

This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. Terms not defined in this policy have the meanings given in our Terms and Conditions at optionpit.com.

We will not use or share your information except as described in this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

We collect information you give us, information collected automatically when you use the website or Apps, and limited information from partners such as app stores and payment processors.

Information you provide

  • Account details: name, email address, phone number, username, and password.
  • Billing details: postal address and payment information for subscriptions, courses, or events. Card numbers are handled by our payment processors, not stored by us.
  • Communications: messages you send us, support requests, survey answers, and any content you post in community features, chat rooms, or live sessions.
  • Preferences: watchlists, alert settings, and other settings you choose in the Service.

Information collected automatically (website)

  • Log data: IP address, browser type and version, pages visited, time and date of visits, time spent on pages, referring pages, and similar statistics.
  • Cookie and similar technology data (see “Cookies, Analytics, and Device Identifiers” below).

Information collected automatically (Apps)

  • Device information: device model, operating system and version, app version, language, and time zone.
  • Device identifiers: app instance IDs and Apple IDFA or Google Advertising ID.
  • Usage data: screens viewed, features used, videos watched, session length, and in-app interactions.
  • Diagnostics: crash reports and performance data used to find and fix bugs.
  • Push notification token: a token from Apple or Google that lets us send you notifications, if you allow them.

The Apps do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or precise location.

Information from third parties

  • App stores: when you subscribe or buy through the Apple App Store or Google Play, the store processes payment and tells us the purchase status, product, and a transaction ID. We do not receive your full card details.
  • Payment processors: confirmation of payments made on our website.
  • Sign-in providers: if you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the name and email address that provider shares with us.

How We Use Information

We use personal information to run, secure, and improve the Service, and to contact you. Specifically, we use it to:

  • Create and manage your account and verify your identity.
  • Provide the content, tools, live sessions, and features you sign up for.
  • Process purchases and subscriptions and manage renewals.
  • Send service messages, such as receipts, account notices, and schedule changes.
  • Send trade alerts, reminders, and other notifications you opt in to by email, SMS, or push notification.
  • Send marketing about our courses and services, where permitted, with an option to opt out.
  • Respond to questions and support requests.
  • Understand how the Service is used, fix crashes and bugs, and develop new features.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms and Conditions.

Option Pit provides educational content. We do not use your information to make individualized investment recommendations.

Cookies, Analytics, and Device Identifiers

Our website uses cookies, and our Apps use software development kits (SDKs), to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure how the Service is used.

Cookies are small data files, often containing an anonymous unique identifier, that a website sends to your browser and stores on your device. You can set your browser to accept or refuse cookies and to alert you when a cookie is sent. If you refuse cookies, some parts of the website may not work.

In the Apps, SDKs from our service providers collect usage and diagnostic data on our behalf.

The Apps request access to your device’s advertising identifier only with your permission. On iOS you can decline through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in device settings.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only as described below.

  • Service providers. Companies that host our website and Apps, process payments, send email, SMS, and push notifications, provide analytics and crash reporting, stream video, and provide customer support. They may access personal information only to perform tasks for us and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
  • App stores. Apple and Google process purchases made through their stores under their own privacy policies.
  • Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, or court order, or when needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of Option Pit, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers. If Option Pit is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may transfer to the new owner, who must honor this policy.
  • With your consent. In any other case where you direct us to share it.

We may share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably identify you.

SMS and Push Notifications

We send text messages and push notifications only if you opt in, and you can stop them at any time.

SMS. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the categories of sharing described in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help.

Push notifications. The Apps ask for permission before sending push notifications. You can turn them off at any time in your device settings or in the App’s notification settings. Turning them off does not affect email or SMS preferences.

Data Retention, Security, and Deleting Your Account

We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the Service and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations, and you can ask us to delete your account at any time.

Retention. We keep account information while your account is active. After you close your account, we delete or de-identify it within 90 days, except for records we must keep by law, such as transaction records.

Security. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit, to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Deleting your account. You can delete your account and associated data in the App or by emailing [email protected]. Deleting the App from your device does not delete your account. Subscriptions bought through Apple or Google must be cancelled through that store; deleting your account does not cancel them automatically.

Your Rights and Choices

You can access, correct, or delete your information and opt out of marketing by contacting us, and residents of some states have additional rights.

  • Marketing email: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
  • SMS: reply STOP.
  • Push notifications: turn them off in device or App settings.
  • Account details: update them in your account settings.
  • Cookies and ad identifiers: adjust browser and device settings as described above.

State privacy rights. Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states with consumer privacy laws, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold, get a copy of it, correct it, delete it, and opt out of its sale, targeted advertising, or profiling. We do not sell personal information. To make a request, email [email protected]. We will verify your identity before acting, respond within the time the law requires, and not discriminate against you for using these rights. You may use an authorized agent, and you may appeal a decision by replying to our response.

If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the United States.

Children’s Privacy

The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has given us personal information, we delete it promptly. Parents or guardians who believe their child has given us information should contact us.

Links to Other Sites

The Service may link to third-party websites, such as brokerages and trading platforms, that we do not operate. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and in the Apps with a new effective date, and we will notify you by email or in the App before material changes take effect.
