Golden Hour

Hi Shoppers,

It is one of those rare warm winter days in Chicago.

As of this writing, it’s 64 degrees with a high of 66!

And it’s super sunny. Gorgeous!

In fact actually warm enough to sit outside.

Chicagoans truly appreciate those first few warm days.

It just needs to get above 45 degrees and people are out and about wearing shorts.

Monday’s forecast is a high of 39 with a 70% chance of snow.

So I will not be wasting anyone’s time here and I will be getting outside right after …

We look at these gold and silver ideas.

Silver & Gold

I think the SPDR Gold Shares ETF (Ticker: GLD) is going higher, possibly testing its August 2020 high of $194.

I like buying the Mar18 184 calls with an implied volatility of 26.88 and selling the 194 calls, which have an IV of 31.82.

If GLD opens and trades higher on Monday, I would pay around $2.50-$2.55 for this 10-point spread with fifteen days to go.

iShares SIlver Trust (Ticker: SLV) has a very similar chart:

I think SLV can trade back to its high in early February of $28.

I like the Apr. 14 24/27 call spread for around $.65.

The 24 calls have an implied volatility of 35.93 and the 27 calls are trading an IV of 43.

As you can see, the implied volatility of both these stocks is up about five points.

Hope you’re enjoying the weekend!

Thanks for Reading …
