There was a major increase in gamma Friday as a result of new call positions opening into strength, with the SG Gamma Index now at 2.35 (+1.837). This creates an environment where dips are more likely to be bought.

• Thursday’s (Dec 07): 0.513 (slight positive)
• Wednesday’s (Dec 06): 1.432 (light positive)

Last week’s Gamma index rise sets up an initial positive bias Monday and Tuesday with low volatility into CPI, FOMC, and Treasury supply, which is expected to lift vol into Friday’s OpEx.
