Give ‘Em An Inch …

Hi Shoppers,

Have you heard the latest?

The US Department of Homeland Security is creating a Disinformation Governance Board.

Is there any competent government bureaucracy?

Name one!

According to the DHS, the new board’s aim, “is protecting national security by combating foreign misinformation and disinformation.”

We are supposed to trust and blindly follow these so-called leaders in Washington DC?

Specific topics of foreign mis- & dis-information they would like to “govern” are the border crossings, Russian interference in our elections, Russian invasion of Ukraine and COVID19.

Trust that they will be objective?

As my Dad always said, “Give ‘em an inch and they take a mile.”

Of course, he was always referring to my sister and me.

Maybe if we had news outlets that just gave us the facts, true research and fact-based news stories, we would not be in this predicament.

The DHS assures us they will “protect privacy, civil rights and civil liberties”.

Yeah, right.

Onto the Markets

You think the market was crazy last week?

We have a Fed meeting this week!

What the hell is going to happen?

Have no fear, Mark and Andrew will be here Tuesday at 1:30 ET with pre-Fed trading strategies.

Join them for this free live event to help you navigate these crazy trading days.

But first, I have a trade idea in Pepsico (Ticker: PEP).

The Joy of Pepsi

Look at the huge bearish engulfing candle in PepsiCo Inc. (Ticker:PEP) on Friday:

PEP has had a rally from $153.37 on March 10 up to $177.62 last Thursday.

I think it can pull back to $167, which is a support level and the 50-day moving average.

If PEP opens and trades lower on Monday, I will be a buyer of the May13 puts:

I like buying the 170 puts with an implied volatility of 24.11 and selling the 165 puts trading in IV of 27.65.

The markets are a bit wide, but I would pay around $1.35 for this spread.

Thanks for Reading … See You Next Tuesday!
