My dad loved Neil Young.
So when I was growing up, I heard the song Alabama a lot.
And there’s one line that sticks out as I look over our momentum, income and AI expert Hans Albrecht’s piece today…
“…the devil fools with the best laid plans.”

AI + Genomics = The Next Revolution
Some of the most transformative advances in AI aren’t in software — they’re in biology.
As compute costs plunge 75–85% a year, scientists can now model the human body as a living data network. This fusion of AI and genomics is unlocking faster drug discovery, earlier detection, and even the possibility of true cures.

The Problem With Quantum Computing
Quantum computing has sprinted up the hype curve, but the physics haven’t caught up to the prices. Stocks like Rigetti Computing Inc (RGTI) are trading as if commercialization is imminent, yet quantum remains deep in the lab.
It could be another 20 or 30 years before it gets out.
We’re at the “innovation trigger” stage of the Gartner hype cycle – the point where excitement runs well ahead of reality. Unlike AI, which is already producing measurable productivity gains, quantum’s progress is mostly theoretical, with few proven use cases.
Take one of the most recent breakthroughs as an example: Quantum computers are powered by something called a Qubit. The problem? They only stay stable for about 400 milliseconds.
The breakthrough? A Paris based quantum startup figured out how to make a Qubit last around an hour.
That’s a major breakthrough. But it’s far from what’s needed for commercial adoption.
There’s no doubt quantum will one day revolutionize computing, encryption, and materials science – but we’re decades away.
Markets have priced in a decade of future potential today, leaving RGTI and peers looking more like science projects than investable businesses.
