Intel Can’t Make Money Selling Chips WTF

In the 80’s and 90’s  I remember Andy Grove the then CEO of Intel Corp (Ticker: INTC) saying only “only the paranoid survive.”  I think Jeff Bezos of Amazon.com (Ticker: AMZN) ran with similar ideas as he built the retail behemoth in 30 short years.  The point of this is leadership and ideas matter.  Things need to get done.  INTC is the only major chip company that can’t make money in a runaway semiconductor chip market.  INTC sucks inside.

They stopped getting paranoid at some point as Nvidia Corp (Ticker: NVDA) and Broadcom Inc (Ticker: Broadcom) came out of nowhere to eat their lunch.  Actually it was a 20+ year rise as one fell.  The point is things change.  In corporate America 20 years of work can look like overnight success.

Trading volatility is a little different.  What looked calm one day looks nuts the next.  Time for volatility is measured in days or hours not in years.

We are on an up and down ride for VIX right now and the Volatility Products.

 How will it end?

Will the Great 8 tank the market?

Apple Inc (Ticker: AAPL) actually had revenue growth so I am glad I avoided that short.  It will make a nice Iron Condor trade for a week. I have been wrong there and thankfully avoided any more pain.  But with 7 of 8 reporting at this point the market is deciding where the Vol Catalyst will be.  It might be Tech but if it holds I don’t see how VIX holds up.  While VIX has been orbiting up and down, there has been no lift off.

Hopefully the Iran/Israel thing cools down but for now I think tomorrow is a big day in the Vol Cycle.

Sets up perfectly for a VXX short.
