Yo Pit Crazies,
If investing or trading in this top tick market for 2023 has you nervous, check out my Weekly Profit Cycles webinar on Thursday follow me Trade for Trade how to be your own 4 fig hedge fund.
Early on in Capital Gains when Frank and I were working together he was talking about Uranium and how it needed some help from the Beltway to get into the Green agenda. Uranium and Nuclear power being the only truly profitable alternative to fossil fuels. A good green ETF to follow is the iShares Global Clean Energy Index (Ticker: ICLN). The issue is it has no Uranium and mostly is living off the rise of Solar Energy stocks right now. All the other alternatives have not made any dough yet and ICLN peaked the day Joe Biden was elected. To be honest, Green Energy has been a failure in Europe so the world needs an alternative. I think Green peaked in 2021.
ICLN 5 YEAR CHART
The story is not about ICLN, it is the tale of the divergence/convergence in Clean Energy and Nuclear Energy. The COP28 lovefest on Alternative Energy where all the grandees fly in on their private jets and scold the average person for driving their cars has a new favorite.
Guess what that favorite is? I also will reveal what my best stock for 2023 was and if it has legs for 2024.
Cameco Corp (Ticker: CCJ) has been a huge winner!
Thanks Frank!. I added it to two accounts at the end 2022 into 2023 when I got convinced of the Uranium thesis. CCJ paid a dividend and upped the game by buying the Nuclear reactor assets of Westinghouse in 2023, finishing the deal on Nov 7.
5 year CCJ chart with 1 day candles
The investing part with CCJ is easy, just buy the stock and collect the dividends. I add to it selling 30 level puts when they get juicy enough. I won’t let it get over 5% of my equity portfolio and will stop adding there. CCJ will be coming to my OP Mentoring Div+ strategy watchlist soon enough.
90 day IVs are higher in here and the stock can get choppy so diagonal calendar spreads can work well. That helps get in for lower entry points.
General Electric Corp (Ticker: GE) is another beneficiary of the COP28 love as noted by the big candles on the right in the chart below. Options tend to trade cheaper there so longer term call buys can work.
GE 6 Month chart with 1 day candles
There will be short term trades in these but only for short term conditions in the products I trade like OPMentoring or the Easy Trade Button. I Like both GE and CCJ for long term growth holds and to perform well in 2024 as the story gets out on the new Green Energy. Fossil Fuels are not going away anytime soon but this is another OP Newsletter story.
To Your Trading Success,
AG
