“That Wasn’t So Bad”

Hey traders,

Back-to-school is over, which means the real school year has started. The kids aren't excited to go anymore. Ask how their day went and you get "fine," and of course we've started fighting over homework.

Tonight I had my first homework fight of the year with my fourth grader. We told him to sit down and do it, and he whined like a three-year-old who'd just lost his candy. He had maybe 10 minutes of work in front of him, and it took him close to an hour.

I told him, "If you'd just sit down and do it, you could go right back to playing."

Shockingly, that didn't work.

After nearly an hour of pushing, plus a case study in good cop, bad cop from my wife and me, he finished. He said, "That wasn't so bad," and ran upstairs.

I thought about that for a while.

Most of us don't throw tantrums anymore, but we've got our own ways of making a job harder and longer than it needs to be. Sometimes we never finish it at all.

We put things off and we avoid them. Sometimes we quit on things that aren't hard, only because we don't want to start.

Then we finally do the job and find out it went a lot faster than we expected. Even when it does turn out to be difficult, I've never felt worse for having finished it.

I hear it all the time from our newer traders.

They'll say, "I'm not smart enough to understand that," or "This seems too hard." The worst one is, "I don't feel like learning this."

Many of them quit.

Then there are the ones who stick with it. They become profitable. They start paying themselves, and some even make the jump to trading full time.

They develop new strategies, and their suggestions improve the ones my team and I run. They move into futures options or 0DTE options, and they jump on new opportunities as they show up.

Even the people who decide trading isn't for them leave with a real understanding of options, option income strategies, and how markets work.

Pushing traders to succeed is my top career goal, and it's why I'm diving into the trading around Anthropic. It's shaping up to be the biggest IPO in history, and there'll be winners and losers. I'm going to teach you how to end up a winner and not a bag holder.

Trading a mega IPO is a new skill for most people, and it's the kind of homework that's easy to put off. I want to teach it to a whole group of traders.

I want you to join me.
