OP Insider’s Edge 7.10.26

Yo Pit Crazies.

There's a $8 stock on my list right now that somebody is quietly loading up on, and it's hard to ignore that much volume.

Nobody's excited about it. It's not a chip name, it's not anything you'd see trending. It made a 52-week low a while back, and my scanner grabbed it on the rebound.

Now it's got the biggest open interest on my whole list, and I'm looking at it going, that's a lot. Somebody bought like 9,000 contracts in here. Your open interest almost doubles when that happens.

That's the thing I actually look at. Not the chart. When a boring stock all of a sudden has that kind of size behind it, somebody knows something, or at least somebody's betting real money that they do.

It's got three and a half of the four things I need. There's one piece missing, and it's the piece that decides whether I'm watching it or buying it.

The stock is Western Union. WU, trading around $8.

Here's what I've got. Somebody accumulated roughly 9,000 contracts and pushed the open interest to almost double.

That's not retail. That's institutions getting positioned before the story's obvious, and reading that footprint is the whole game for me.

I'd rather follow the money that's already in than sit here and guess which way the thing goes.

So the money's here, the stock's coming back off its low, and everything is rocking except one thing. The market hasn't given it a good earnings reaction yet.

Everything else is already there. It just needs a little something, a decent earnings number, and the accumulation is telling you somebody's already betting that number shows up.

I've been burned on this exact setup, so I'm not going to pretend I haven't. CPNG had all the same pieces. Good positioning, right level, the whole thing. I jumped the gun and stepped in ahead of the earnings reaction instead of waiting for it, and that was the one trade in the group we closed for a loss.

Lesson learned. Wait for the piece that's missing.

Somebody in the room asked me about Marvell, and it's a good way to see the difference. Marvell is a stock the market just loves. Any good news at all and it's up.

Western Union isn't that. It needs a little help, one earnings number the market likes, but the footprint says the smart money is already there waiting on it. And it pays a fat dividend while you wait, which is part of why institutions are sitting in the stock in the first place.

The calls are cheap, and that's what makes it fun. The tens are trading around 60 cents.

If this thing gets going, calls like that don't move a little. They double, maybe you get a triple out of them. You're risking 60 cents, and the big money already in there is what tips the odds your way before the crowd ever notices anything's happening.

That's the kind of name I'm stalking.

Not the one everybody's cheering. The quiet one where the footprints showed up first and the catalyst hasn't landed yet.

These are the exact setups we hunt for every week in the Ceres Club. Find the footprint, wait for the missing piece, and be in it before everyone else figures out why it's moving.
