For me it will be another tough Memorial Day as me and my family finally put Capt Felix “Sam” Giovinazzi to final rest in Arlington National Cemetery the week of June 5th. The second holiday without Capt Sam and he is missed. He loved the Navy and this holiday as slowly but surely all of his shipmates sailed on.
I will be around but not doing classes that week between travel and the internment.
When he passed In Jan 2023 I did not know it would take 1.5 years to get to his final resting place. I knew it would happen, just did not realize it would take what it did.
There is a trading metaphor there
Funny enough, I got my risk management ideas from dad and his mother
The phrase from my dad and Grandma Mary is “You Never Know.” On Memorial Day we are reminded of the one certainty but as we move through life and trading, you just never know. Trade for what you see, hedge for what you don’t.
