The Tariff Question Is in Front of the Supreme Court
The tariff question is in front of the Supreme Court right now. The early findings are uncertain—maybe the Trump court is asking questions leaning against the tariffs, maybe they’re leaning forward. However, it’s not normally the Supreme Court that likes taking away presidential powers per se.
If you look at how the market is taking it, all stocks are up and VIX is down. So we’re seeing a more normal correlation going on with SPY and VIX.

There are some rumors that now the elections are over, maybe Congress tries to vote on the continuing resolution or something like that. We’ll see if the Republicans cave or the Democrats cave—who knows which side will do something. Obviously, the bond market would like to take the lower spending route.
A Flash 5 Stock of Mine
Now I want to call your attention to a Flash 5 stock of mine. Normally in Flash 5, I like to see earnings growth, earnings turnaround, and stocks bouncing off of 52-week lows—with a stock turnaround and a large option fingerprint, meaning institutional traders are buying up long-term options.
This was a stock that fit the bill for me in June of 2025 this year. I didn’t close the stock profitably—it was up, although I didn’t top-tick it and I didn’t close my calls. They were up maybe 30% at the most. But now the stock is really having a hard time, and here’s the reason why.
PINS Has Growing Revs and Earnings
Yeah, the stock is growing. Earnings and revenue have gone up 20% a year, but it’s not enough for the Street. They came back afraid of tariffs, afraid of furniture. The CEO was basically afraid of their own shadow, and the stock is trading at a multi-year low.

So, do I think this is an opportunity right now? I do but I am tiptoeing in.
Is It an Opportunity Similar to META?
I do think this is an opportunity similar to Meta Inc (META), where you still have growth. But are they integrating AI right? Are they spending money on AI to make it work better on their platforms?
META 1 Year Chart
Here’s the thing: other companies are being lauded for spending money on AI to improve the future profitability of their platforms. When OpenAI makes a deal with Oracle, the stock goes up 10%. OpenAI makes a deal with AMD, the stock goes up. Same with Palantir.
But Pinterest (PINS) says they’re spending money on AI and they crush the stock.
Again, is it too early to see? I don’t know. But I took a little nibble here on Pinterest. I did sell some higher beta names—I sold some HOOD and some Palantir today after very long rides.
I didn’t go all in on Pinterest, but I don’t think it’s a bad spot. And while you have this shutdown going, you’ve got to take advantage of the opportunities when they present themselves.
The Street Can Be Very Wrong
Pinterest is still a growing company and the Street doesn’t like it. But as I have seen in the past with Flash 5, the Street can be very, very wrong and change its mind.
